12th September 2019 First week for new term
What an amazing first week back we have had!
Our teaching team have been busy visiting schools to undergo various Child Protection programmes and staff inductions, as well as providing demonstrations, trials and Week 1 lessons.
We started the week with a demonstration assembly at Al Mamoura Academy, Aldar Academies. The assembly featured performances on; Piano, Violin, Cello, Electric Guitar and the Drums. Thank you to all of the Al Mamoura students for being such an amazing audience - all of students listened, joined in and enjoyed each an every performance! Thank you to Mrs Kelly for her support in organising the event!!!
By Wednesday we were off on the road to Al Ain!
Why? - Well….we are excited to announce that this term we have started to teach music and dance at Brighton College Al Ain! A small team of IMIG Music Teachers visited the school and taught over 20 students, with an additional 20 to be taught from next week! We are so excited by the huge musical talent in the school and can’t wait to get started with our Dance & Music E/CCA’s from next week, which include; FS Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Hip Hop Dance, Guitar Club, Vocal Club, Open Strings and the beginnings of a Wind Band. Well done to all of the students for their first lesson, we hope that they enjoyed it and we can’t wait to hear them progress over the course of this term.
In the evening our Operations Manager, Aaron was at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, taking part in a Music Teacher Conference featuring the classroom music teams from; Amity International School Abu Dhabi, Brighton College Abu Dhabi, British International School Al Khubairat, British International School Abu Dhabi, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, Raha International School - sorry if we missed anybody! Lots of ideas were shared about how we can improve music within Abu Dhabi schools, whether it be in the classrooms, instrumental studies, or ensemble musicianship. Thank you to Cranleigh AD for organising the gathering, we can’t wait for the next one!
Today (Thursday) we visited two schools. We started the day with a demo assembly in the morning at Repton School Abu Dhabi, Fry Campus, whilst were also had a team out at West Yas Academy, Aldar Academies.
At West Yas, we were accepting cash and card payment from parents and we finished the day with over 3 times as many students as we have ever had in West Yas! We ended the day with yet another demonstration assembly, featuring the piano, cello, Electric Guitar and Drums. Thank you to Mr Derek (West Yas Music Teacher) and the school Parent Relations Executive, Aida for their support!
To end we would like to give a huge welcome back to our existing students, and a big hello to lots of new students.
And also a massive well done to all of the IMIG Teachers - it has been a busy week of promotions and teaching.
